    On 15 July, by invitation of the Faculty of Information Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (Fachhochschule Potsdam), Dr Tibor Koltay held an online lecture, titled Do we still search for the identity of data literacy? at the 8. Potsdamer I-Science Tag “DaILy Digital – Data & Information Literacy, Vermittlung und Anwendungen” seminar.

  • Keynote Speech

    On 13.05. 2019 Dr Tibor Koltay presented a keynote paper, titled “Data curation in academic libraries: Part of the digital revolution?” at the “Digital Revolution – Today and Tomorrow: 5th International Scientific Conference Information Science in an Age of Change” in Warsaw. His presentation caught considerable attention. His participation was supported by the EFOP-3.6.1-16-2016-00001“Complex Development of Research Capacities and Services at Eszterházy Károly University" project.

    The LILAC 2019 (Librarians' Information Literacy Annual Conference) has been organised by CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals), in Nottingham.

  • Interdisciplinary

    At the 4th International Interdisciplinary Conference on 21 March, 2019 in Debrecen, Ferenc Jávorszky presented a paper, titled “Teaching mutimedia software to future educators”. Dr Tibor Koltay chaired in part the Interdisciplinary 1 section. The title of his presentation was “About the pedagogy of information literacy”.

    The IFLA Journal’s ambition is to increase access to research tools and expertise to enable further efforts towards translational research.     Dr. Tibor Koltay contributed to the “My library” distinguished subproject of the EFOP-3.3.3-VEKOP-16-2016-00001 „Museum and library developments for everyone” project as reviewer of the studies on digital literacy development.

  • INFINT 2018

    The Information Interactions (INFINT) conference series has been organized by the Comenius University Library and Information Science Department in Bratislava since 2013. This year's event took place on 23 October. Among the international presenters Dr Tibor Koltay, who is member of the Programme Committee and regular speaker at these conferences, delivered a presentation, titled “Information overload in the post-truth era”.

    On June 15, our library and information science students visited the library’s public spaces, store rooms, and the collection of manuscripts and early printed books.

    On 29 March 2018, Tibor Koltay presented a paper, titled Digital humanities: opportunities and challenges for librarians, library and information science and information literacy at the DH_Budapest_2018 international conference.

  • The future of libraries

    As part of the series “Towards the library of the future”, on the May 15th, Tibor Koltay delivered a lecture (in Hungarian language), titled “Information literacy in the age of data-intensive research”

  • PTDK again

    On the 4 May 2018 the Partium Christian University organised the 21th Partium Student Conference and Competition (PTDK) in Nagyvárad (Oradea, Romania). Andrea Balla Hábenciusné, part-time student of Library and Information Science from the Jászberény Campus took part in it for the second time. She presented her paper, titled “The history of LIS education in Jászberény” advised by Dr Tibor Koltay.

    By invitation of the of the University College Qatar, Tibor Koltay took part in the Research Data Management in Digital Humanities international conference in Doha between 17 and 19 April. He delivered a lecture, titled Supporting digital humanists: challenges and opportunities for library and information professionals.

  • RDA MEETING

    The Research Data Alliance (RDA) is an international organization that aims to reduce barriers to the openness of research data. On its meeting, called RDA meets Hungarian researchers, took place on 7 February in Budapest, Tibor Koltay presented a short paper, titled Data literacy, metadata, data citation: Together with the libraries?

  • Informatorium

    The book launch of László Z. Karvalics’s Szó-kalauz a kortárs információs kultúrához, took place in the National Széchényi Library on January 19, 2018. The discussion on this guide to the vocabulary of information related words was led by Tibor Koltay, who also wrote a review on it.

    Tibor Koltay’s Are you ready? Tasks and roles for academic libraries in supporting Research 2.0, published in Information and Learning Science (earlier New Library World) is among the most read papers of the week and of the year. Among the most read papers in Journal of Librarianship and Information Science, since December 2016 we see his Data literacy for researchers and data librarians.

  • Information Interactions 2017

    The Information Interactions conference took place on October 17, in Bratislava, where Tibor Koltay presented a paper, titled Library support to Research 2.0 in the age of data literacy. He also participated in the panel, addressing the future of libraries.

  • AGRIAMEDIA CONFERENCE

    Between the 11th and the 13th of October 2017, two teaching staff members of the Jászberény Campus took part in the 12th AgriaMedia Conference on Information and Instruction Technology conference.
